Becoming a CSPS member interests you...? If the following characteristics apply to you, we need you on our team!
- You are stimulated by team work.
- You would like to acquire an advanced first aid certification as well as having the opportunity to put it to practice rescuing and helping others.
- You are at least 18 years old or will be during the 2009-2010 ski season.
- You would like to take advantage of the many privileges only offered to patrollers.
- You love skiing (alpine, cross country or telemark) or snowboarding.
- You have the ability to ski or ride safely and in control on all slopes or trails at the center in which you'd like to patrol (amongst the followings) :

The training...
To join our team of volunteer patrollers in the C.S.P.S Eastern Townships zone, you must first take our first aid course, approximately 60 hours of training, and the successfully pass our written and practical exams.
The first aid courses commence in September near the end of the month. The courses are held from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Tuesday & Thursday in Sherbrooke at the "24 Juin Training Centre" or on Monday & Wednesday in downtown Montreal at the Bell Tower (floor B).
To become a fully certified patroller the candidate must also become certified in on-hill (or trails), this training takes place on the slopes (or trails) of the patroller's assigned centre.
The assignments...Cross Country patrolers must be available one weekend out of three. Beside, alpin patrolers, in general, must be available : - every Saturday or
- every Sunday or
- one complete weekend every two weeks or
- one complete weekend every three weeks along with two nights distributed on three weeks (only for the patrollers of Montjoye ski center).
Why becoming patroller ?
Generally, people join our CSPS teams and became patroller to :
- Acquire advanced first aid certification (including CPR) as well as having the opportunity to put it into practice.
- Ski or ride (as a patroller), at your favorite ski center for free.
- Having the possibility of visiting (as a patroller) other ski centres patrolled by the Zone and the Organisation, from coast to coast across the country. Please note that each ski centre and patrol has specific policies for visiting patrollers that should be verified before you visit.
- Having the pleasure of being with people who are as passionate as you are about skiing and surfing and the opportunity of making new friends.
- Working with a team of dynamic people.
- Enrich your personal and professional aptitudes.
- Take advantage of certain privileges at the centre where you ski that are only extended to patrollers.
