The Canadian Ski Patrol System :
The Canadian Ski Patrol System is a registered non-profit corporation
comprising highly trained volunteers and professional members. The System is national in scope
and was formed to promote safe skiing within the ski resorts and to provide assistance to injured
skiers.
The CSPS's membership of more than 5000 patrollers provide a Canada-wide, highly skilled and
responsible service to the skiing industry. All members of the C.S.P.S receive a high standard of
first aid training that includes cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as on-hill or on-trail
training. Additionally, there are many more advantages provided to the patroller at their assigned ski
centre.
The Eastern Townships Zone :
The C.S.P.S. Eastern Townships Zone has approximately 200 members that offer
their services to various alpine and cross-country ski centres. The C.S.P.S. trains patrollers on
alpine skis, nordic skis, telemark skis and on snowboard.
With our own team of dedicated first aid instructors and on-hill trainers we provide high quality
training to all returning patrollers and each new recruit every ski season.

Being a patroller is...
- Receiving training which can prepare you to handle emergencies encountered by your fellow skiers. This skill can extend itself to all facets of your life. The certification includes 60 to 65 hours of training and is more complete than the majority of general first aid courses. This comprehensive training includes many hours of hands-on training doing practical simulations.
- Having the ability to ski or ride safely and in control on all slopes or trails at the centre where you patrol. It is not necessary that the patroller is an expert skier or rider. However, generally the patroller must be of an intermediate or better calibre.
- Participating in your favourite sport while contributing to a very worthwhile cause.
- Having the pleasure of being with people who are as passionate as you are about skiing and surfing and the opportunity of making new friends.
- Having the opportunity to ski for free* at your favourite centre (and others) and to improve your abilities.
- Working with a team of dynamic people.
- Enrich your personal and professional aptitudes.
- Take advantage of certain privileges at the centre where you ski that are only extended to patrollers.
